MidSouth Geothermal currently has employment openings for the following qualified candidates:
V.P. Construction - The Vice President of Construction provides leadership and direction for all aspects of construction throughout the company, including strategic planning and improving current systems and work processes. The Vice President of Construction will work directly with the V.P of Operations and Director of Project Management, as well as other senior management personnel and reports directly to the President. Proven skills and proven success with a minimum of five year’s experience in construction management. Four-year college degree in engineering or construction management and current industry accreditations preferable. Must possess strong analytical skills, conflict management skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues, as well as strong leadership, mentoring, communication and team building skills. Skilled at establishing and working collaboratively in a dynamic environment on multiple projects with multiple priorities and must be willing to travel. Proficiency in Word and Excel is required, AutoCAD is preferred.
Project Manager – Oversee all related construction activities, including daily planning and scheduling of employee and subcontractor related operations, such as drilling, grouting, pipe testing, horizontal trenching, backfilling, flushing, purging, and commissioning of the geothermal system. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, weekly safety and progress meetings, daily and weekly reports, material ordering and procurement, equipment scheduling and routine maintenance. The project manager will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and must have a minimum of two years construction management experience, preferably with a four-year college degree in engineering or construction management and a current IGSHPA accreditation.
Field Technician – Responsibilities include installing and testing of vertical and horizontal geothermal loop piping, including pre and post installation pressure and flow tests, butt, socket, side-wall, and electro-fusion welding of HDPE piping, bedding and backilling of circuit systems in compliance with specifications and ASTM standards, geothermal vault and manifold installations, and flushing, purging, and commissioning of completed systems. The field technician will report directly to the project manager and must have a minimum one-year HDPE pipe fusion experience, preferably with a current HDPE fusion certification and related construction experience.
Equipment Operator – Responsibilities include operating and maintaining multiple types of conventional construction equipment and specialty grouting and completion equipment, including excavators/trackhoes, backhoes, rock hammers, lulls, trench compactors, skid-steer loaders, pavement saws, grout mixers, grout pumps, geothermal loop reels and coil tubing units (CTU). The equipment operator will report directly to the project manager and must have a minimum two years operator’s experience, preferably with formal training and current certifications.
Estimator – Responsibilities include estimating geothermal projects, including procuring plans and specifications for current projects, preparing written take-offs, project cost estimates, project proposals, and bid packages, qualifying bidders, generating submittable drawings, as-built drawings and tracking future and perspective projects. The estimator will report directly to the office manager and must have a minimum two years experience estimating MEP projects, preferably with formal training utilizing estimating software, and CADD or AutoCAD software.
